Velneshwar is situated 170 km north of Ratnagiri district.Swayambhu Shivasthan on the estuary of river Shastri. Long and beautiful beach.North of the Shastri river lies the idyllic village of Velneshwar. The quite, coconut-fringed beach offers the visitor the ideal opportunity for swimming or just relaxing. There is an old Shiva temple in the environs which is often frequented by pilgrims.Velneshwar's tradition is the once a year in March mahashivratra fair is held in honour of the God Shankar or Shiva.

Velneshwar is an ideal beach for swimming and sunbathing. The green coconut palm grooves and rock free seawater make the beach so beautiful and attractive.

The beach here is a calm and lovely one, which is very safe for swimming. There is also an old Shiva temple in the environs, which is often frequented by pilgrims. Velneshwar is the focus of attention once a year in March, when the Maha Shivaratri fair is held in honour of Lord Shiva. One can also visit Anjanwale fort, which is also known as Gopalgadh, located at the top of the mountain and the Parashuram.

Rajiwada Bunder - It is at Bhatye. The Bhatye beach is very clean & beautiful. there is also a Coconut Reserch Centre of Konkan Krishi Vidhyapith.

Nature's Miracle: - When we visit the seashore of Ratnagiri, we witness a miracle of nature. The coastline area surrounded by Mandavi Port in the city has black sand & the nearby located area of Bhagvati fort has white sand so the sea here is named as Black & White Sea.

Nivali waterfall: - One the way from Sangameshwar to Ratnagiri after crossing the Bav river we approach the Nivali ghat. While crossing this ghat we sea the beautiful waterfall. It is seen only in the rainy season.

Ratnadurg Fort and Bhagwati Mandir - The Ratnadurg fort is located on the sea shore of Ratnagiri. It spreads across an area of about 120 acres. The fort is surrounded by sea. Inside the fort, there is a temple called the "Bhagwati Mandir". This ancient temple is quite famous among the local populace.

Lighthouse - The lighthouse is one of the oldest and most beautiful places to see around in Ratnagiri and is open to the public for a limited time.
